Journalist Klodiana Lala has discovered new details related to the issue of the sterilization concession, where the former Deputy Minister of Health, Klodian Rjepaj and businessman Ilir Rrapaj were arrested by order of SPAK, and measures were taken against 6 other officials.
Lala said that businessman Ilir Rrapaj and former deputy minister Klodian Rjepaj were schoolmates, as he added that both deceived the institutions by not declaring their acquaintances. She also said that a sterilization center was set up inside the hospital center which was not put to use.
"The investigation started three years ago based on a report from the 'Thurje' initiative. Earlier, the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana had doubted the investigations, claiming that there were no violations in the case of Mr. Rjepaj. The latter is accused of abuse of office and falsification of documents.
Rjepaj and Rrapaj have not stated that they had no previous acquaintance with each other or previous conflict. They were schoolmates and traveled together. About two years ago, Neës24 revealed that the doctors were ordered not to have operations because the budget was exceeded. Meanwhile, the scandal was bigger. They declared in 2016 that it was important to grant this concession, while the problem started later.
