
The Special Court of Appeal overturned the decision on the Fier incinerator, and sent it back for a first instance retrial with another panel of judges.
In a communication to the media, the GJKKO Appeal announces that the judicial body composed of judges Engert Pëllumbi (chairman), Dhimitër Lara (member) and Miliana Muça (member), decided to overturn the decision of the GJKKO, and return the acts to this court with another judicial body.
"The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of judges Engert Pëllumbi (chairman), Dhimitër Lara (member) and Miliana Muça (member), on 19.12.2024, announced the decision regarding the case of registered with Act No. 26, registration date 04.04.2024, on the appeal of the Prosecutor's Office Special against Corruption and Organized Crime, as well as on the complaints of the appellants/defendants LK, AB, PA, SC, FM, A.Sh., AK, EM, KZ, LD, AD, JY, against decision no. 57 , dated 25.09.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, and decided:
The annulment of the decision no. 57, dated 25.09.2023 of the Special Court of the First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, and the return of the acts to this court with another judicial body.
Against this decision, an appeal can be made to the Supreme Court within 20 (twenty) days from the day after its announcement," the announcement states.
