Policeman Novruz Cenalia was killed during a momentary conflict with Asllan Azgan Mërnica.
The event happened yesterday around 13:15, in the village of Baltëz in Fier.
It is learned that the victim was an officer of the Eagles and originally from Tropoja. At the time of the incident, officer Cenalia was not on duty but was wearing the uniform of the "Eagles" and was going to the police station to receive his service.
The perpetrator was in the car with his mother when he shot the policeman.
In connection with this event, the State Police requests the help and cooperation of citizens to locate the suspected perpetrator of the murder, citizen Azgan Mernica, 23 years old, a resident of the village of Sulaj.
The former head of the police, Faik Basha, said on the show GoodMorning Albanians on Euronews Albania that there was not enough mobilization by the police structures to catch the perpetrator of the serious crime.
According to him, in this case, police helicopters and professional drones should have been set up, not like the one that was set up by the police, which, as he said, was too small and unsuitable for this.
"We have seen tools and equipment such as state police helicopters that are rented out for weddings and do not take off, and they set up a 50,000 lek drone that doesn't even capture the image for a wedding because it is too small and they want to catch the perpetrator of a murder. Citizens do not cooperate. It was not a professional drone that has high-resolution cameras, it was a very small drone, it would have been better to have mobilized the structures, taken the helicopters, the drones," said Basha.
