"I was 19 years old when I became a prison guard! Dad had talked about this job, I was very happy when he gave me the news. I don't know why I was happy, but I was happy and I received it well! I had prison 313 near my house, it never occurred to me to work there! We were four female guards who worked in shifts. It's something difficult, staying locked up and isolated in prison, although that's the job. I started as a prison guard at prison 313 until 1993, then I fled to Italy", she said about her first job.
In 313 he had to stand next to the widow of the former dictator.
"I felt sorry for Nexhmije Hoxha. There were days we talked, we communicated, there were days we didn't talk at all. She complained a lot about the very fact that her age should not be there in that prison, it was unfair. He often asked for answers from me. Although we often didn't have one at home, my mother would divide the egg into three or four parts, I still felt sorry for Nexhmija, I only helped her out of kindness! Due to different conditions, when some tea I brought her got cold, she got upset. He often told me to get out of here. At that time, Ramiz Alia, Fatos Nano and Hekuran Isai were also in that prison ," said the singer Vera Picari.
Today she has returned to Tirana to make my songs and clips.
"I am connected to Albania, not only for my family but also for the music I create, especially the sole" , she concludes.
