The analyst and sociologist Ergys Mërtiri said that the future of the leadership of the party led by Sali Berisha, said that there will be no new figures, because there are none.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Mërtiri debated with the panelists Ylli Rakipi and Neritan Sejamini about the role played by Lulzim Basha for 10 years under the orders of Berisha and his future.
Excerpts from the studio debate:
Ergys Mërtiri : I don't think there can be new figures for several reasons, because these, first, have not left room for new figures, because Berisha in these 30 years has kept figures that have made him fresh and cool and are there they worshiped him. Second, the figures themselves do not want to stand out, because the leader removes the stand out. So it's kind of a scheme that leaves the party in this kind of quagmire where it is. And thirdly, Berisha himself no longer trusts anyone. The most trusted person in these 10 years has been Lulzim Basha, despite the fact that today he accuses him of lack of loyalty, but the biggest problem that Basha had was that he was more loyal than he should have been.
Ylli Rakipi : No, no. Here I intervene in favor of the viewer because many people are following us. Basha has assumed all the risks, when he accepts and knows what Sali Berisha is, all the costs, even his humiliation.
Ergys Mërtiri : Now when Lulzim Basha went against the woman, I am convinced that the day will come when Argita Malltezi will also say to her: father leave me my way because I will do this work myself. Berisha doesn't trust anyone, so he is forced to bring his daughter into the game.
Neritan Sejamini : Now I have a question. We all agree that Mr. Basha will lose the 2025 elections.
Ergys Mërtiri : Yes, they will lose everyone.
Neritan Sejamini: Do you think he will resign after the defeat?
Ergys Mërtiri: What is the connection?
Neritan Sejamini : This is explained with the fly. Everything is Berisha. So Basha, this sufferer.
Ergys Mërtiri: There is no suffering, I am accusing Basha of loyalty.
Neritan Sejamini : It is not loyalty, it is a symptom that even Basha does not give up power, it is the Albanian syndrome of autocracy. Even Mr. Basha will lose the elections in 2025 and he will not run away, he will lose them in 2029 and 2033. There is a culture of autocracy.
Ergys Mërtiri : I was saying that Berisha does not trust anyone.
Neritan Sejamini : I am saying that this is a very big problem for the SP as well. Mr. Rama has also removed the elections from the statute, let's leave these nonsense, these useless terms.
