The owner of the restaurant in Berat, where the Italian tourists fled without paying, Gabriela Kadena, has reacted for the first time regarding the situation that received wide attention not only in Albania, but also in Italy, where Prime Minister Meloni was also in trouble with the opposition, because it was alleged that he spent taxpayers' money to pay off the bill of Italians who ran away from the restaurant.
Through a public reaction, the owners of the restaurant have expressed their gratitude to the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, who, according to them, is "a real lady".
They also say that the money paid by Meloni for the tourists bill, they have decided to keep as a memory of the gesture of the Italian prime minister and "against the evil eye".
"Albanian and Italian journalists and TV channels have contacted us, but we have not allowed any interviews. Those Italian tourists who left without paying have given us a lot of publicity for our city. Let's thank them!
We already said that this was not a problem since the Italians are at home, many of them come as our family members to Italy when we emigrated. We hope they enjoyed the food. Hopefully they spent that money on something nice!
Heartfelt thanks to Georgia Meloni, a real lady! We are not rich, we work hard as a family, we don't make enough to be impressed by that money! But this is not a matter of money for us and we are very touched by her gesture!
A great example of dignity from a good strict mother who sets an example in her house! Great Georgia! We love it very much even as half Italians that we are! He honored us by coming to Vlora on vacation!
In the photo is the money that was sent to us by the embassy. They will stay here in the restaurant as a wonderful memory and also against the evil eye. Thank you Prime Minister Meloni Viva Italy Viva Albania!" - wrote the owner of the restaurant.
We recall that the footage of the restaurant's cameras, where the Italian tourists were shown running away without paying, got the attention of many Albanian and foreign media and the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, after learning about the story, decided to take over the payment of the bill.
