Adem Metkola, whose properties were seized by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, has run for a member of the Municipal Council in Kamëz. He was a candidate from the Republican Party of Fatmir Mediu.
The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has seized several properties, bank accounts and 7 cars belonging to Metkola, under suspicion of money laundering.
"The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana seized real estate, bank accounts and 7 cars belonging to the citizen AM, under investigation for the criminal offense "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity" provided for by Article 287 of the Code Criminal in the framework of criminal proceedings no. 3298, dated 23.05.2023", the prosecution announces.
It is further clarified that from the information received and the verifications carried out, it has resulted that in the accounts of Metkola and A.Xh., in the second level banks in the Republic of Albania for the periods 2007-2008, 2015-2016 and 2020-2023, some significant transfers have arrived. The shipments were made by the English state and the senders were foreign nationals, where no connection is proven between them and the beneficiaries.
