Candidate for the National Council, Stresi reveals whether he will run for MP
Rapper Arkimed Lushaj

Rapper Arkimed Lushaj, known by his stage name Stresi, who is running for the National Council of the Democratic Party, declared during the DP Assembly that his engagement with this political force dates back to childhood.

He stated that his main goal is to represent young people and address the problems they face.

Asked if running for the National Council is a step towards a future run for MP, Stresi said that he did not enter politics for personal gain or to secure a position.

"For the first time, I am saying exclusively to you that I have been following the Democratic Party since the fourth grade of elementary school and until now. I come from a family that does not sell our ideals, we are stable, determined and whatever happens, I will still be a supporter of the Democratic Party from the beginning to the end. I did not come for a catapult into politics. I have taken this responsibility myself, to be close to the young people. I come from the street, from real life, from music and most of all I know what the youth wants. I have an objective of my own, which I will achieve and I am here today, I am running for the National Council, for the members of the National Council and I hope for everyone. I will deal with all the young Democrats from Tropoja to Saranda," he said in an interview for A2 CNN.

Lushaj emphasized that political activity does not conflict with his commitment to art, while adding that he will continue to be close to young people in the field. According to him, they need more representation and listening.

"Politics has been my hobby. We are coming back stronger. We will be on the ground for all the problems that young people are currently unrepresented and I am ready to talk to them, to be with them for any injustice and I am saying here that we will be much stronger this time. That day will definitely come. We hope it will come as soon as possible. We are working hard, God willing. Albanians are becoming aware and they will definitely win."

Speaking at the Democratic Party Assembly, he praised the renewal process within the party and said that young people are ready to take on more responsibility.

"I think we needed this renewal. It's definitely a catchy slogan. I think there will be changes. The youth are ready to take their places. Those who deserve it, those who have contributed to the Democratic Party, those who have been appreciated by the Democratic Party, are all here today."

Finally, Stresi called for the unity of democrats, emphasizing that politics should be developed not only in institutions, but also among citizens.

"I think there are two types of politicians. There are those in the office, there are those in the field, there are those who are very close to the people and I think I will be in the field close to the people as I said and I call on all young Albanians wherever they are in Albania, in the diaspora, to return to their nest, to the Democratic Party. We are a family, there are always disagreements in the family, but this is the family. I invite everyone, even those who have left the Democratic Party, the young people to return to the nest, because we are ready and we will return very strongly."
