After leaving office, vetting commissioners will continue to have special protections.
On December 30, 2024, the Albanian government determined by decision that the chairman and members of the Independent Qualification Commission are included in the list of personalities who must be protected by Guard officers until the end of 2025.
KPK closed the mandate, putting 800 judges and prosecutors under scanner, where nearly half of them were dismissed or resigned.
The commissioners themselves have requested that they now move to the judicial system, becoming colleagues with the one they confirmed in office.
However until a place is taken, they will have Garda protection until 31 December 2025.
