Archbishop Anastas Janullatos will be sent to Athens for treatment. The news is reported by the Greek media 'Protothema', which writes that the health condition of Janullatos, 95 years old, has worsened. Since December 30, Janullatos has been hospitalized in a private hospital.
According to the Greek media, his condition is under control, but he is being sent for medical checks after suffering a stomach hemorrhage.
For this reason, it was deemed necessary to transport him to Athens, with an Air Force plane. His transport will be carried out by a special medical team of EKAV (National Emergency Service in Greece).
We recall that the Archbishop was admitted to a hospital in Albania on December 30, 2024, when it became known that he was affected by a seasonal virus.
Janullatos, has served the Orthodox Church of Albania since 1991 and is, in the full sense of the word, its founder.
