The head of the Initiative, Thurje Endri Shabani, commented on the 8 arrest warrants issued today by SPAk regarding the sterilization concession.
Shabani emphasizes that the investigation is not at its end and that it should go all the way to the former minister. He said that the prime minister must bear legal responsibility, before bearing moral responsibility.
Shabani also pointed out that the villas that were built with the stolen money should be confiscated. The head of Nisma Thurje said that when it comes to denouncing the affairs in SPAK, the majority and the opposition are together, because they steal together and protect each other.
"SPAK is four years late. Note that there has been a change in the direction of SPAK. This year, many files that have dragged on for 3 years have started to advance. There is a positive development, obviously not enough. We expect the investigation to go even higher, we expect the former minister to be arrested and how far the chain of this decision-making goes, because money was stolen here that should have gone to hospitals, medicines, to build a health system which is practically one of the reasons why people emigrate. Second, all money that has been stolen must be confiscated. If villas were built with that money, those villas should be confiscated and returned to health centers. The period when they abused the public power, when they stole from Albanians and did not have a thorn in their side must come to an end and I am full of hope that it is coming to an end. SPAK and justice will do a part, the rest is political. When it was time to report this affair, Nisma Thurje was the only one who took it to SPAK. I was confronted with these corrupt officials, I believe also with criminal groups involved in these affairs. This shows the courage of Nisma Thurje, and it shows that in 30 years they are used to accusing each other, but they don't really touch where it hurts, when it comes to arresting each other, to fight corruption fundamentally. they do, because they are partners together. Together they build palaces, resorts, steal together and protect each other. If you look at the contract that was concluded with the private sector, there is no rational reason to justify it. We made a calculation at that time, where if the state had continued to do the sterilization of medical instruments itself, it would have saved us 3.7 million euros. We give the concessionaire up to 17 million euros per year, for something that could easily be done much better and cheaper by the state budget," said Shabani on MCN TV.
