Security expert Fatjon Softa has proposed a new model for road control in Albania, based on radars, intelligent cameras and the use of artificial intelligence.

The idea aims to move from random checks to an automated and coordinated real-time system. According to him, radars should be installed on major roads that warn drivers 250–300 meters ahead. This, together with the “tutor” system, will change the way speed is monitored.

"Radars are placed on the axis and give a warning 250-300 meters ahead. But what makes the difference is the 'tutor' system, which measures the average speed. It is not enough to slow down only at the radar, the system follows you throughout the entire segment," he told 'Ora News'.

The rest of the plan is related to smart cameras. They will not be used only for speeding, but for full control of vehicles in traffic, through artificial intelligence software.

"The camera itself is a device. The value is in the software. With artificial intelligence, stolen license plates, wanted cars, expired insurance or lack of technical control can be identified," Softa added.

The system provides for any violation to be immediately sent to a control center. The police on the ground then receive accurate information about the vehicle and its location, intervening at specific points, such as highway entrances and exits.
