Criminology professor Ervin Karamuço, commenting on the work done by SPAK, said that the Special Prosecution Office has focused its attention on the electoral process and certain investigations have been left for after the campaign.
However, Karamuço said that surprise checks continue for issues under investigation, such as the one a few hours ago where BKH agents searched an apartment in Kodra e Diellit, which according to him is adjacent to the apartment of Mayor Erion Veliaj.
"As we speak, they have shifted their attention to the electoral process. It is understood that they will not forgive flagrant things, but for issues that had reached the stage where measures could be requested, there is also an intervention from internationals so that the election campaign is not disrupted and will be postponed until after the elections. However, for issues that are under investigation, currently two hours ago an apartment next to Erion Veliaj's apartment was searched.
"These are surprise checks following interceptions and testimonies provided by certain individuals where suspicions arise about premises where certain items, money, etc., may be kept, in relation to this matter ," said Karamuço.
