The American Department of State (DASH) has reacted regarding Tuesday's police action in the mujahedin camp, in Manza, Durrës, which was accompanied by tensions.
"The Albanian police assured us that all actions were carried out in accordance with the law, protecting the rights and freedoms of all citizens living in Albania.
We support the right of the Albanian government to investigate any possible illegal activity within its territory", says DASH for A2 CNN.
On Tuesday, police forces encountered resistance from Iranians inside the camp, while one of the officers was injured and received medical treatment.
The search warrant was issued by the court following suspicions of terrorism and cyber attacks.
The action, which was led by the head of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, encountered the resistance of the mujahedin, who opposed the blue forces in law enforcement, while at the end of the controls they managed to remove the operatives from the camp.
Amidst the tensions, the Mujahideen raised allegations that the police killed a 68-year-old member of their community. Members of the MEK also showed the media his dead body, which, according to Mujahedin doctors, died from the use of tear gas. Forensic experts also arrived for the event, who are expected to determine the cause of death.
