Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has stated that Prime Minister Edi Rama is confident of the SP's victory if new elections for the new mayor of Tirana are held tomorrow.
Invited to the show 'Repolitix' on Report TV, according to him, Tirana could go to elections within two months.
"It is an issue that Rama himself has said has been part of the debates. In Albania, nearly 30 mayors have been arrested in these 35 years and in no case has there been a proceeding like in the Veliaj case. We are faced with a fact in which I think the government will not wait for the decision of the Constitutional Court. In Albania, the opinion of lawyers is not considered by politics and Albania does not have a Constitutional Court that has the strength to resist political force. I say that Tirana will reach a solution within two months. Would the SP take Tirana to the elections with these legal obstacles if it were not certain of victory? ", he said.
