The OSCE Ambassador to Albania, Michel Tarran, met today with the head of SPAK, Altin Dumanin, where he announced that a new training is being prepared on the prevention of money laundering, the fight against corruption and international cooperation.

The news was announced by the OSCE Presence in Tirana itself through a post on the social network Facebook.
" Ambassador Tarran emphasized SPAK's essential contribution to strengthening the rule of law in Albania, through the prosecution of corruption, increasing the integrity, transparency and independence of the justice system, and underlined SPAK's important role in addressing electoral crime in this year's parliamentary elections.
Tarran and Dumani discussed current and future areas of cooperation and exchanged views on ways in which OSCE support can be made even more tangible and tailored to the institution's strategic objectives.
Ambassador Tarran also emphasized the Presence's readiness to develop comprehensive work with a wide range of institutions to address the high percentage of pre-trial detainees in Albania.
The Presence is also preparing a new training on money laundering prevention, the fight against corruption and international cooperation, further strengthening inter-institutional cooperation in complex investigations.
Since 2021, the Presence has been closely cooperating with SPAK and other judicial actors through its regional trial monitoring project, analyzing the effectiveness of the judicial response to organized crime and corruption.
Recent collaborations have also included specialized training and roundtables on criminal offenses related to public procurement, legal research, and public-private partnership contracts.
"The OSCE Presence remains committed to the justice institutions in Albania in advancing justice reform and strengthening the rule of law in the country, " the announcement said.
