The prosecutors are reflecting the suggestions of the Special Anticorruption Court for the sterilization file, which requested criminal prosecution of two former ministers Shkëlqim Cani and Ilir Beqaj.
This is what the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, declared today to journalists.
"The possibility that there are other persons under investigation at any time is not excluded. I have no comment on the judge's decision. It continues to be under investigation by the two prosecutors of the case (Edvin Kondili and Eneid Nakuçi). I have exercised my powers as head of the prosecution as far as the law is concerned. As for the property investigation, it is a practice in SPAK that is carried out both for the criminal offense of corruption and for organized crime, it is a parallel investigation", said Dumani.
A month ago, GJKKO left in force the security measures imposed on eight defendants for the sterilization concession.
The former Deputy Minister of Health, Klodian Rrjepaj, requested a mitigation of the measure from prison arrest to a lighter one by offering a financial guarantee, but judge Etleva Deda refused.
He did the same for Ilir Rrapaj, the businessman of the concessionaire of "Sani Service", who, according to SPAK, is suspected of having known the former Minister of Health with whom he traveled through Rinas on three occasions before signing the contract.
But the eight SPAK suspects for whom the court approved the measures are all members of the commission. One of them is the elderly Petref Mersini who faced justice for the first time in his life.
