Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has commented on the scandal of the export of toxic waste to Thailand by Kurum company.
According to him, this company is also being investigated by SPAK regarding the 5 national assets that were given to it, including 4 hydropower plants. On the other hand, he also shows what is hidden behind throwing 500 employees on the streets.
" Declaring bankruptcy leads to a negative account in the bank, which avoids confiscation measures, fines or any type of tax that can be charged. I hope that the intervention of the prosecution is timely because any delayed action makes the investigation worthless. Criminal investigation against physical entities is different against commercial companies. Therefore, Kurum should be processed urgently ," he said.
According to Spahiu, these wastes are not the first to be exported. According to him, as long as we don't have recycling plants, we have to keep open two tracks, which have been exported or dumped in urban places, in pits, in fields.
" We will investigate very deeply, if there is a risk to people's lives, then the second part will see if they were exported. In 20 years we are dealing with an illegal activity. To my knowledge, SPAK is investigating the privatization with compensation of 5 national assets that were given to KURUM. KURUM was favored with the purchase of 4 hydropower plants, Shkopet, Bistrica 1 and 2. They were given to him at a dubious moment. It has become the subject of a criminal investigation ", Spahiu said for "Report TV".
