Shortly before the start of the plenary session and the announced protest in front of the Parliament, the main entrance to the Parliament has been surrounded by a metal fence, while authorities have increased security measures throughout the perimeter.
According to reports from the scene, the pedestrian area and the Tirana Castle have been blocked, with passage only allowed for MPs and authorized persons.
The next protest rally is expected to begin at 10:00 AM, when protesters will gather again in front of the Parliament to express their opposition to the government. The protest comes just days after tensions were recorded at the last rally, where there were clashes between protesters and police forces.
Meanwhile, several Socialist Party MPs were seen entering the Parliament premises in the early hours of the morning, before the protest began. The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, and MP Lindita Nikolla are visible in the scene.
It remains to be seen whether today's protest will take place without incident or will be accompanied by tensions, as occurred in previous rallies.
