Colonel Hajro Limaj, invited to the QUO VADIS studio, described the social situation in the country as a human crime.
He stated that mass emigration has brought serious consequences for Albanian society, emphasizing that over 2 million citizens have left the country over the years.
Diplomat Hajro Limaj also focused on pensions, emphasizing that around 80% of pensioners receive very low incomes.
Excerpts from the conversation:
Limaj: They brought bloodshed, murder, graves. This situation forced a large part of society to abandon the homeland. Today, in those dramas, there are 2 million and 170 thousand Albanians who have abandoned their homeland.
Borakaj: How do you explain that the reaction of the Albanian people is departure and not resistance?
Limaj: Instead of this people organizing and showing their place to the so-called politicians, they used the path of rebellion, leaving Albania. There are now 780 thousand pensioners in Albania, most of whom are childless.
Borakaj: It is a very big social drama.
Limaj: Of these 780 thousand pensioners, 500 thousand have a pension of less than 200 thousand, and of these 280 thousand are in the countryside with 220 thousand. This is a human crime, just like Israel does by killing people, and this is a crime. The Prime Minister is on the air, and he gives the MP a salary of 4 million and 800 thousand monthly income.
