In the Italian Parliament, where the Albania-Italy agreement for the accommodation of several thousand illegal immigrants in our country is expected to be ratified, a strong debate has started.
Deputy Alfonso Colucci of the "5 Stars" party has opposed the agreement, saying that it violates a number of articles of the Italian Constitution.
During his speech, he said that housing 3,000 immigrants in 3 camps is expected to cost 650 million euros, while 10 such immigrant centers have been built in Italy with only 52 million euros.
According to him, the agreement serves only as propaganda for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her government.
" There are violations of human rights. Articles of the Constitution guarantee the rights of people at risk, as violated by the agreement in question. Even in Albania, a group of deputies have taken to the Constitution to decide. All this emergency costs at least 650 million euros, we have spent 52 million euros on 10 centers, while in Albania, 650 million euros will be used for 2.
And this for 3,000 immigrants because it clearly says that they cannot accommodate more. 115 thousand immigrants have come to Italy. This is not intended to fight immigration. These 650 million euros are taken from other essential services.
It would be better to spend this money in Italy, both for internal security and for the security of citizens. You are last-minute populists, you are taking our money to Albania. It is exclusively a propaganda campaign. Meloni's election campaign officially starts today" , declared Colucci.
