The former head of the police, Arben Hajdarmataj, said that he appreciates the work of the police for the "Tempulli" operation, but he does not think that it is as great an achievement as is being rumored.
Invited to an interview for Euronews Albania, Hajdarmataj said that it is true that there are many arrested, but those arrested, according to the former head of the police, are the last link in the chain and do not affect the destruction of the structure of criminal groups.
"If we are going to take the chain of criminal activity, we have caught the last link in my opinion. The last link has value, but it has no real value, as it does not break the chain of criminal activity. We have caught the distributors who sell near the schools and near the bars but we have not caught the one who does the middleman and we have not caught the one who organizes the distribution nor the producer.
We have such an investigation that in the end we have something, but not so much that it is commented on and made public. "I personally do not agree with the concept of feeding the citizens with such pomp and fanfare," said Hajdarmataj.
