After more than 10 months in prison, Meta has appealed to the Constitutional Court, requesting his release, immediately after the change in security measures for Malltez and Salianji.
Lawyer Romeo Kara said that the process against Meta has violated constitutional guarantees and that his situation is not easy.
"The Constitution has provided some guarantees, as it does for institutions, it also provides for individuals. The part of the judicial process that has violated constitutional guarantees will be affected. I think we are not yet in official communication that the investigations have been closed. If they have been closed and the prosecution does not change its position, they are convinced that criminal offenses have been committed.
"I think, considering the process, I think that nothing will change against Meta. The impasse shows that the Supreme Court, regarding constitutionality, is itself not in full constitutionality. It can leave the state of arrest in force, it can establish illegality and it remains to be seen how the court will judge it. I see his situation as not easy ," the lawyer told "Abcnews".
In his analysis with legal elements, the lawyer said that the charges against Meta are serious and that they are convincing the accusation that the person committed these crimes.
"The charges against Meta are in other decisions, unlike Salianji and Malltezi. Meta is accused of three serious criminal offenses, we have a series of facts that are being enriched with evidence that has been investigated for a long time and is convincing the accusation that the person has committed these offenses ," he concluded.
