The National Food Authority has intervened in the Milot market, where it has blocked and confiscated a quantity of pork that was being traded outside any legal and sanitary standards.
According to the official announcement of the AKU, inspectors blocked 75.8 kilograms of pork that resulted without an identification stamp and without a tax invoice. The product was being sold in conditions unsuitable for consumption, in violation of the legislation in force on food safety.
The NFA identified that the lack of documentation and traceability posed a direct risk to consumer health. For this reason, inspectors immediately destroyed the confiscated quantity and imposed administrative measures against the responsible trader.
The National Food Authority states that it is continuing controls in cooperation with law enforcement institutions, with a focus on cases of trading food products outside standards and without legal authorization.
The AKU calls on citizens to only purchase milk from licensed entities and to report any suspicious cases. This action comes a few days after the seizure of a significant amount of baby milk, which was found to be harmful to children's health.
The intervention in Milot confirms that informal trade in food products continues to be an active problem, despite repeated cases of administrative punishment.
