Bad weather in Delvina/ 3 villages blocked, the mayor speaks: The situation is

For two days, Delvina has been under the sway of heavy rainfall, with main roads blocked due to debris and water flows, while agricultural land and homes have been flooded.

The landslides have also blocked several vehicles, requiring the intervention of heavy equipment.

The Prefect of Vlora, Evis Allushi, said that all units are on the ground monitoring the situation and working to help residents affected by the floods.

"We have had continuous rainfall with intensity from average to high. Delvina has been affected the most, and there have been situations that we have come to see up close. Residents have been notified in advance and we have been informed by the municipality and the sub-prefect that the necessary measures have been taken to help the residents. We are in certain points where the problems have been greater and we will help the residents of these areas as much as we can to recover the damage they have suffered from the floods," said Evis Allushi.

Deputy Prefect Kristaq Kiço stated that inspections will be carried out in all municipalities and that work is being done to restore communication with the 3 blocked villages.

"Together with the prefect, we will conduct an inspection in all the municipalities of the south to identify the problems. Personally, I want to thank the mayor for her willingness to control the situation and open the main roads. The main thing is to establish communication with the 3 blocked villages, Lefetehrori, Kakodhiqi and Varfaj. According to the information received from the mayor, the installation of turbines will be carried out today in order to restore communication. We will identify the damages for the families affected by the floods ," said Deputy Prefect Kristaq Kiço for "Report TV".

Also on the ground is the Mayor of Delvina, Besmir Veli, who stated that efforts are currently being made to release the road connecting the 3 blocked villages and work is being done in every neighborhood of the city to return the situation to normal.

"The situation has normalized, the rainfall has decreased. We are currently intervening on the road connecting Delvina with the three villages. This will allow the residents of these villages to move by noon. We will identify the families that have had problems with the floods. In other neighborhoods of the city, we are intervening with scrapers and joint workers to clear the roads and return the situation to normal," said Besmir Veli.
