One of the main witnesses in the trial against Fredi Beler has fled abroad after allegedly receiving threats from certain persons or circles near the elected mayor of Himara.
This was confessed by the journalist Igli Celmeta who said that Avdyl Rama told him that he received threats and blackmail to give up the case.
He said that the witness left the country out of fear, as he left a message that if it happens to his father, "Freddy Beler's gang" is responsible.
"The trial against the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, was postponed due to the absence of a witness. The hearings will be held on December 4 and 5. I have communicated with the witness, Avdyl Ramaj. He told me that he was blackmailed, threatened and that he should give up the case.
After testifying in SPAK, he left the territory of Albania, while his father requested a protection order. He even stated that his father was threatened. I have taken the case to the relevant authorities, but they have not confirmed it. During the contact with Avdyl Rama, I was impressed by one sentence. More specifically, he said that 'if something happens to my father, the Beler gang is responsible'", said journalist Igli Celmeta.
The witness Abdyl Rama, the brother of the associate of justice Arsen Rama who sank Fredi Beleri with the accusation of buying votes, has not been found by the state police, causing the postponement of the next session in the Special Court.
