The United States Embassy in Tirana has issued a warning to American citizens regarding the protest announced by the Democratic Party, which is expected to take place on Tuesday, February 10, at 5:00 PM, in the center of the capital.

According to the official announcement, protesters are expected to gather in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, on the "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, in the segment between Skanderbeg Square and Mother Teresa Square. Albanian authorities have announced increased police presence, roadblocks and traffic disruptions, while some intersections in the center of Tirana may remain impassable.

The previous protest on January 26 was accompanied by acts of violence, including the throwing of Molotov cocktails at the Prime Minister's Office building, the use of tear gas by police, and physical clashes between protesters and law enforcement. These developments have increased concerns about security during future rallies.

The embassy emphasizes that, although demonstrations often begin peacefully, the situation can quickly escalate and the protest can spread to surrounding areas, including government buildings and other city blocks.

For this reason, American citizens are advised to avoid the protest area, exercise increased vigilance, and monitor developments through local media. The announcement also advises limiting distractions such as the use of phones or headphones while moving around the city, as well as maintaining an emergency plan for safe exit in case the situation worsens.
