The fishing sector is heading for bankruptcy. Llazi Prifti, a fisherman for 65 years, says global warming has had its consequences, but in this direction, the human hand has drastically influenced it.
According to Prifti, the amount of fish in Vlora has decreased significantly, and the city's fishermen are also to blame, as they hunt without any rules or criteria.
According to the old fisherman, Llazi Prifti, the fishing law is not being implemented, where he says that hunting during the period when the fish lay eggs should be prohibited. According to Prifti, the negative phenomenon of hunting with dynamite also continues, while pollution beyond the permitted norms in the sea has also had negative consequences in this sector, reports " A2CNN ".
Fishing within the Bay of Vlora, as well as with dynamite, is a problem that has also been highlighted by environmentalists. Niko Dumani says that the problem lies in the large fishing boats that come very close to the coast to fish, casting thousands of meters of nets, damaging the aquatic ecosystem.
According to environmentalist Dumani, the consequences of dynamite fishing are colossal, where in addition to the fish that are killed with dynamite, the seabed is polluted with chemicals, feeding on hundreds of invertebrates, which are food for other fish that die from the dynamite poisons.
The fishing sector, in addition to the many problems it faces every day, is also one of the sectors most forgotten by the government, where Vlora fishermen lack financial support.
