Journalist Klodiana Lala has given details about the SPAK operation that led to the discovery of the cocaine laboratory in Qereka. She said that the criminal group has obtained the license of a company founded in 2020 whose activity was importing animal skins.
Invited to the show "Open" on News24, Lala, referring to investigative data, said that the criminal group brought 24 tons of treated cowhide, which were transported to a warehouse in the Mullet area.
She said that these treated skins came from the Dominican Republic, while they entered the Albanian territory from the Port of Durrës. Lala said that 44 thousand dollars were paid for the two cargoes of cow skins, while 48 tons of cow skins were received in the two cargoes.
The journalist said that the foreign nationals, the two Venezuelans and the Colombian would have the role of chemists, that is, they would separate the drugs from the skins.
" The prosecution has used all investigative methods, including wiretapping. SPAK has made 3 simulated purchases, expert reports have been made to look at the traces, or if there were traces of drugs on these skins.
When SPAK was convinced that there was cocaine on his skin, he intervened and arrested a Venezuelan in Rinas, as he was leaving Albania. The other Venezuelan was caught in a luxury apartment in Kodra e Diellit2, while the Colombian was arrested in Višnje, while he was having dinner in a restaurant.
SPAK has only spoken about the 6 kg of cocaine that was seized. Qereka is a village near Rinas and the Port of Durrës, thus a strategic point. There is also a detail that, being near the international airport, this area cannot be monitored by drones due to airplane flights ," said Lala.
