SPAK prosecutors and BKH agents have once again landed in Elbasan, one of the districts considered a hot electoral area in the May 11 elections.
On Saturday morning, one day before the parliamentary elections, prosecutors and agents of the special anti-corruption structure held a meeting with the Head of the Prosecution Office Kreshnik Ajazi and the Director of the Local Police Fatmir Hoxha.
The focus of the meeting was the growing concerns and denunciations related to the May 11 elections.
Reports indicate that the meeting discussed concrete measures being taken to prevent and punish any attempt at vote manipulation, including vote buying, pressure on voters, and the use of state resources for the purpose of the electoral campaign.
Representatives of SPAK and BKH have requested maximum engagement from local justice and order institutions, with the aim of increasing monitoring on the ground, especially in areas identified as sensitive. They have emphasized that any report or indication related to electoral crimes will be treated with priority and impartially.
The importance of creating a climate of trust for citizens who wish to report irregularities, guaranteeing their protection and the confidential treatment of information, was also emphasized.
Within a few days, SPAK prosecutors and BKH agents have held two meetings with prosecutors and police leaders in the Elbasan District, which produces 14 parliamentary mandates, while there are strong accusations from the opposition for the involvement of criminal elements in favoring SP candidates.
