Analysts Andi Bushati and Preç Zogaj debated on the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV about the violence that accompanied the latest opposition protest, two days ago in front of the prime minister's office and parliament.
While Bushati said that the opposition is being violated in parliament, where it is not even given investigative commissions, Zogaj said that setting fire to Tirana is not a solution.
The debate
Bushati: Where I disagree with Preçi is the question of who is exercising violence in Albania. Edi Rama and his gang do not hand over Balluk who do not allow investigative commissions, or some people who after holding some demonstrations without impact throw some Molotov cocktails. When they threw them at the Erion Velija municipality, if you remember, even the ambassadors who condemn violent protests were thrown, because they know that in this country the stupid shit was done by someone else.
Zogaj: My question is that here we do not have any difference in who fights with their own means. This does not give violence, it does not make sense in democracy because we are in a democratic regime. You say let's set Tirana on fire. For Belinda Balluku, you say let Tirana burn. Belinda Balluku cannot defend herself.
Bushati: We are not in a democratic regime.
Zogaj: It can't be defended, even Edi Rama won't be able to keep it, you have to get it from me, because it's impossible.
Bushati: We are divided, because you think we are in a democratic regime. I ask the question: who is exercising violence?
Zogaj: You're contradictory, Andy.
Bushati: How much does Edi Rama's charter cost Albanian citizens? The opposition will make a commission, they won't give it and it's pure violence. Violence to steal every day.
Zogaj: There's no arguing with extremism, but you have a slightly different sense because you're well-read. When I hear someone say something like, "Let's set them on fire," I don't argue...
Bushati: There is no debate about collaborationism.
Zogaj: You are an example of everyone saying whatever they want. The regime is a big topic of discussion.
Bushati: You say we live in a democracy.
Zogaj: We live in a society with many problems. A sectarian opposition that closes itself within a narrow group does not come to power.
Bushati: I agree with you that I have no intention of giving the opposition a reason, but an opposition that is faced with this violence will not know it, the only way left for it is outside the institutions.
Zogaj: It turned out once that he listened to Bushati and his friends, burned the mandates, etc.
Bushati: Should he sit in a parliament where he is not given the right, where he is not asked about anything?
