One of the most interesting duels of the 1/16 World Cup will be played tonight in Seattle, Washington, as Belgium and Senegal face off at 22:00. The Europeans are easily seen as favorites, but have recently been criticized a lot for their performances despite coming first in the group. On the eve of the match, coach Rudi Garcia has called for support and has said that for a nation it should be proud to have players like De Bruyne, Lukaku, Courtis and Trossard.
Both coach Martinez and player De Keteleare see the duel with Senegal, which qualified third in the group with France, Norway and Iraq, as very difficult.
African coach Pepe Thiaw initially said that they are 'approaching this duel with great confidence'. He called Belgium a great nation in football for which he has great respect, while adding that 'we are ready for this match and we will give our maximum to qualify'. It should not be forgotten that Senegal won the title as African champion on the field, although later the Confederation of African Nations decided to give it to Morocco.
The winner of the Belgium-Senegal duel in the 1/8 of the World Cup will face the winner of the USA-Bosnia-Herzegovina. This duel will be played at 02:00 in the morning with the World Cup organizers considered favorites to qualify from the 1/16. However, no one expected Bosnia to qualify from the groups and the Balkans still want to make their dream of the World Cup come true.
