Journalist Artan Hoxha has stated that the former mayor of Kukës Safet Gjici was warned earlier that he would not stay long in his post.
He said that at the June 9 meeting of the Kukes Municipal Council, Gjici argued with a member of the Council. The latter, not from the ranks of the SP, had warned Gjicin that his days in the municipality were numbered.
Artan Hoxha: "They had a conflict with this member of the Council, there were previous debates, he belongs to another party. Look, when Gjici went to Kukës, this person was from the Socialist Party and at the moment Gjici took Kukës into administration that person has fled. There was also a debate during the electoral campaign, but the debate at the meeting on June 9 was debated that this member of the Municipal Council won among the 4 members of the council to be in the District Council and Mr. Gjici did not accept it . In hot blood, they had a verbal argument. In Kukës, there was talk even before the elections that there was something" .
Journalist Glidona Daci also took this position, who said that after the warning, Safet Gjici began to doubt.
Glidona Daci: " Yes, he knew because one of the members of the Municipal Council told him at the meeting, "You will stay as mayor for a few more days and you will see what I will do to you!" And this thing has put Safet Gjici on alert and he has started to doubt. He has notified other officials as well . "
