The most powerful passports in the world, where Albania and Kosovo are ranked

The removal of visas with China and the United Arab Emirates in the spring of last year has strengthened the Albanian passport. Although in the Region it leaves behind only Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo, the country has gained a place compared to last year in the World Passport Index.

The Albanian passport ranks 42nd in the world, with citizens who can freely travel to 122 countries around the world, 74 of which are visa-free.

After the removal of visas in the "Schengen" area, the Kosovo passport has climbed to the 54th place with 48 countries in the world that can be visited without the need for a visa.

According to the World Passport Index, this new year it is the passport of the United Arab Emirates that leads for the greatest power with about 180 countries to which one can go without obstacles. The list is followed by Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands.

South Korea and Japan, two Asian countries that topped the list last year, are now ranked fourth and fifth respectively.

Pakistan, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria are the countries with the world's least powerful passports according to the 2024 World Passport Index.
