Albania has "broken" trust several times, yet the European Union continues to support it. Despite the corrupt scheme that Ilir Beqaj created while leading the State Agency for Strategic Programming and Aid Coordination... the "union" continues to give money to SASPAC to support the country on its path to integration.
“ Albania’s next step towards strengthening regional cooperation and compliance with EU standards is embodied in the implementation of 43 new projects under the IPA South Adriatic Programme. With 59 active Albanian beneficiaries, these projects reflect our country’s growing role in the region and our commitment to inclusive development, innovation and sustainability. This is not only a technical and financial breakthrough, but a strategic step forward in Albania’s European journey ”, said Eridana Çano, Head of SASPAC.
With a total investment of 41 million euros, the projects were selected from 198 proposals and include over 220 partners from Italy, Albania and Montenegro. Of these, 57 are beneficiaries from Albania.
“ These projects serve as a kind of pre-accession academy, enabling partners to build new managerial skills on a daily basis. In addition to building technical capacity, the projects provide a practical space to apply and improve communication strategies, underlining the importance of making real benefits visible to citizens and businesses ,” said Gilles Kittel, European Commission Regional and Urban Policy.
The aim is to promote a smarter, greener, more connected and more inclusive South Adriatic region, with better governance, as well as to intensify cooperation in this area through joint actions between institutional and non-profit actors at national and regional levels, promoting smart, inclusive and sustainable development, writes A2 CNN.
“ By working together, we can strengthen our ties and effectively address common social, economic and environmental challenges. These newly approved flagship projects, together with ongoing small-scale and strategic projects, promise tangible benefits that will improve the quality of life across the South Adriatic ,” said Miloš Marković, European Territorial Cooperation, Montenegro.
From the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime to the Supreme State Audit or the Financial Intelligence Agency.. Albania is trying, through the engagement of these institutions, to "repair its image" in the eyes of the European Union in order to regain the trust and financial support of the latter. The Ministry of Finance has drafted and put out for public consultation the National Anti-Fraud Strategy for the Protection of the Financial Interests of the European Union, 2025-2030. / A2 CNN
