The floods in the city of Vlora have caused great damage. The water flooded everywhere and destroyed what he found before. The biggest damage is calculated in the businesses of the area, but also in the houses that were flooded.
Some of the injured owners say that this is a situation that happens every year and the state in the end does not take any measures to support them for the damages.
Fotaq Veneti, the owner of a pharmacy in Vlora, says that the damage caused to the business could be around 100 thousand euros. The water level, he says, reached inside the pharmacy about half a meter.
"I have a pharmacy. A very big damage, I can't say a fixed value but somewhere around 100 thousand euros of pharmaceutical products. The hatch was closed to prevent part of the flood, but knowing that we stayed inside, we called to get out because the situation reached up to 50 cm of water inside. We stayed inside for 2 hours. There are almost 20-50 businesses along this street. This is the umpteenth time, like a disaster," said the owner of the pharmacy.
Meanwhile, the owner of a market says that he suffered a loss of about 5 million old lek.
"Nearly 5 million old lek in damage, very bad situation. It happens year after year here. Big trouble. I got stuck in the store and couldn't get out. They were big flows", said Përparim Celaj for "Report Tv".
"Winter after winter, it becomes sea here. We are forced to fix everything ourselves. The state does not take measures. The damage can be 1 million lek for cleaning, painting minimum. We have been flooded 20 times, 20 million lek have gone to me, no one will know", said Fatjon Ruçi, owner of a bar.
