The former deputy of the Democratic Party, Aldo Bumçi, commenting on the strong clash between the deputy of the German Bundestag, Gunther Krichbaum and Sali Berisha, declared that the politicization that is being done to SPAK with the Berisha case is absurd.
In an interview for "Euronews Albania", Bumçi said that the German MP lied in his statements about the issue of immunity in Germany.
" I don't know if he is caught or what his motives are, but we can say one thing for sure. He didn't tell the truth, he even lied about immunity. The German Constitution, Article 46 has immunity for the investigation, which the Albanian Constitution does not have. Mr. Berisha and anyone else can be investigated without removing their immunity because they no longer have immunity. We removed it in 2012, when we were in power, but the restriction of freedom yes, approval is required", said Bumçi.
Krichbaum said earlier that "strong accusations have been made against Berisha because it is a question of profited property, the US has declared him non grata, and before I meet with people, I would like us not to have any concrete accusations", he said .
