The protest in front of the Parliament has escalated further, after a group of protesters attacked a State Police vehicle, breaking its windows with a metal fence.
The incident occurred shortly after police forces used tear gas and water cannons at the protesters in an attempt to disperse the crowd to clear the way in front of parliament.
Footage from the scene shows protesters hitting the police vehicle with metal barriers removed during the protest, causing damage to the vehicle's windows.
Meanwhile, it is reported that several other protesters have been escorted to the police stations after the latest incidents. This is the second wave of escorts during today's protest. Earlier, during the first clashes between protesters and law enforcement near the Parliament, the police had also escorted eight people. The authorities are expected to provide an updated balance sheet on the number of those escorted and the measures taken after the incidents.
The situation in the area remains tense, as law enforcement continues its efforts to keep the protesters under control. There is still no official reaction from the State Police regarding the incident or the persons detained after the attack on the police vehicle.
This Thursday's protest was accompanied by continuous clashes between protesters and police, the use of tear gas, the throwing of stones, eggs and hard objects, as well as several people injured on both sides.
