The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Tirana General Jurisdiction completed the investigations and sent to trial the citizen Ermes Hoxhalli who is accused of creating a fraud scheme promising free scholarships and trips to America.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the 20-year-old defrauded ministry officials through forgeries.
Ermes Hoxhalli is accused of claiming that he led a project for young people under the logo, "Let's talk together about US'23 and 24", he also issued 19 participation certificates for students and at least one teacher of the "Ali Demi" High School, Vlora with topic "Let's talk together about US'23 project".
"From the investigations within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 1819, dated 11.03.2024, it was found that this citizen created a false identity as Klea Rama and, using the credentials of a senior diplomat of the United States Embassy in Tirana, deceived officials of local educational level in Albania", the announcement states.
Forged documents such as certificates, seals, signatures, logos, photos and videos were found on his laptop and mobile devices.
Charges were brought against him for the criminal offenses of "Computer forgery" and "Forgery of documents".

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana completed the investigations and sent the citizen EH to trial for the criminal offense of 'Computer forgery' and 'Forgery of documents' provided by articles 186/a/1 and 186/2 of the Criminal Code, investigated with security measures, "Arrest in prison".
From the investigations within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 1819, dated 11.03.2024, it was found that this citizen created a false identity as Klea Rama and using the credentials of a senior diplomat of the United States Embassy in Tirana, he deceived officials at the level local education in Albania. Claiming to lead a project for young people under the logo, "Let's talk together about US'23 and 24", he also issued 19 certificates of participation for students and at least one teacher of the "Ali Demi" High School, Vlora with the theme "Let's Project" talk together about US'23".
Through the identity created as Klea Rama, the citizen in question claimed to be the initiator of the "Let's talk together about US'24" project that covers Albania and aims to inform Albanian students about studies in the United States, to activate them in these projects and support some with financial sums if they pass the evaluations in American colleges", the Prosecutor's Office announces.
