Arms production at the Gramsh plant, Meçollari: It takes at least a year

After the announcement that Albania will cooperate in the production of weapons for Ukraine, our country has turned its eyes precisely to this industry to assess whether it has the necessary technology or not.

Artur Meçollari, former deputy commander of the naval fleet, says that at the moment there is no industry in Albania to help Ukraine and it takes at least 1 year to set it up.

"There should be a political decision-making process that goes through all the stages. The issue, the essential question is do we want to help Ukraine. If Ukraine is in urgent need, you don't have industry, it takes at least 1 year to develop it, how are you going to develop it ", said Meçollari.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Gramsh, Besjan Ajazi, also spoke, who says that he does not respond to today's technology.

"Currently, the plant is not in operation for the production of weapons or ammunition of different calibers. If the former weapons factory will be put back into operation, it will have an economic impact. There used to be 1,100 workers. But the specialists of that time do not respond to the new technology, but we have the opportunity to train the specialists", said Ajazi on Report TV.
