"With monitoring, we can inadvertently lead to bullying and aggression of students. Imagine that they will be monitored all the time. They will stay for 8 hours, maybe more with the new program. It is not known, will the monitoring be in the common areas, or even in the classrooms?", said Gentian Serjani, a lawyer.
"Installing smart cameras is a good opportunity to increase security within institutions. Smart City cameras will not be in restricted areas such as classrooms or bathrooms, but in corridors, courtyards, outside schools. And this does not violate privacy ," said Faik Basha, an economics expert.
The big dilemma that remains is how this initiative will affect the psychology of children, considering that they will be monitored at all times. Thoughts and opinions differ, but if we talk to child psychologists, the situation is somewhat clearer in this regard.
But, in this whole story there is a big dilemma: who will monitor this sensitive data in real time, the Albanians or the monitors in Abu Dhabi? This dilemma raises the concern that our data and that of our children could end up in the same hands as those of Iranian hackers...
The data collected from the monitoring systems/cameras will continue to be stored in the current system in use and administration by the respective schools. The Smart City Platform will consult this data for legitimate and clearly defined purposes, namely: preventing incidents that violate security; protecting students, staff and public property. The data is stored in systems administered by the data controller, respectively the data from the cameras of the monitoring system by the respective schools according to the reservation capacities they have, while the alerts for suspicious activities in the system administered by the State Police.
The ministry emphasizes that confidentiality will be maintained through advanced technical measures, but the dilemma still remains whether foreigners will have dual access...
The Ministry of Interior clarifies that the project will be implemented in accordance with Law No. 124, dated 19.12.2024 "On the Protection of Personal Data", aligned with the standards of the EU Regulation (GDPR), respecting the principles of legality, fairness and data minimization.

"If we looked at the case in Turkey when a minor entered and shot with a gun. It showed that even though there were cameras and monitoring, it was seen that it was very easy for these people to enter the school and attack the children. Installing cameras and monitoring is not enough for the safety of children ," said lawyer Redi Ramaj.
"No, I would not agree to my child being filmed all the time. In order to accept it, I would like to have a transparent conversation between the institution and the film materials that will be provided by this filming. Thirdly, I would like the child not to feel under the pressure of monitoring, but to feel under the care of the psychologist and social worker. Ne vazhdim te komentit te mesiperm, shtoj se dikur prane Motel Kotoni ne Tirane qe i ben karshillek Parlamentit te kumbaricave, Kullave binjake 9/ 11 te biznesit te " sllavopronareve" te indianeve te pallatit mbrapa qe mbolli fushat me pambuk, mund te krijojme nje ide te qarte se ke do vezhgoje kamera, perse, qysh dhe tek... Nuk mendoj se mund te kemi ndonje ngasje per pedofili, vetem se kamerat do vendosen ne hollin e hyrjes ne banjo, korridor, mbrapa tabelave ne klasa dhe ne parmaket e dritareve... Behet pikerisht per kete grup shoqeror qe perkufizohet me termin " Dhuna gjeneron dhune"!!!
Me sa jamë informuar kamerat shtëpiake apo në rastin konkret futim edhe kamerat e shkollës, të dhënat ruhen 7 deri në 30 ditë dhe automatikisht fshiehen, me përjashtim të rasteve kur kamerat duhet të plotësojë shiritin e regjistrimit deri në fund duke e zëvendësuar me shiritin tjetër. Kjo varet nga mënyra se si bëhet cilësimi i kamerave. E dyta që të mos përdoren të dhënat personale ndryshohet kodi në cdo orë që dëshiron shkolla apo personi që disponon kamerat.
