The Conference of Presidents is discussing the special parliamentary commission for disinformation, a proposal of the Socialist Party.
The deputy of the Democratic Party, Agron Gjekmarkaj, said that this is an attempt to interfere with the freedom of the media and it is a move that follows the failure of the anti-defamation package.
"This is an attempt to displace the political discourse from government affairs. But beyond that, this proposal is problematic. It comes as a second attempt to interfere with media freedom. It follows the failure of the anti-defamation package, a package that was strongly opposed by internationals. Similar to what happened in Turkey, the strongest violation of the pillars of democracy took place over the word democracy. A great reflection and care is needed", said Gjekmarkaj.
