
Taking cue from several public statements, we call on citizens to distance themselves if they are confronted with illegal actions that violate public order and security.
The Democratic Party is organizing a protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday afternoon, while the State Police has published a plan of measures.
Thus, some road segments will be blocked from midnight today until the end of the protest. In other segments, the blockade will start at 3:00 PM on Saturday and will last until the end of the protest.
"Depending on the development of the rally, there may be restrictions on vehicle traffic on other road axes. In the event of a blockage, to help citizens who will circulate on these axes, the Tirana Police has taken measures to divert vehicle traffic to alternative routes ," an official Police announcement states.
But what draws attention to the Police announcement is that tensions are being warned and in this context, it appeals to citizens to distance themselves from acts that threaten public safety.
" Taking cue from some public statements, we call on citizens to distance themselves if they are faced with illegal actions that violate public order and safety ," the Police statement said.
Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, during a media conference, warned Prime Minister Edi Rama to stay in the office and wait for the citizens who will march towards the Prime Minister's Office.
"We will teach the government the lesson it deserves, that's how I will describe the protest, the citizens will teach the government a strong lesson. Let it stay in the office and try. That's what I tell it, stay there. You've armored the walls, you've sealed the doors, stay and go inside, stay if you're a man, " declared Berisha.
Official announcement from the Police
Representatives of the political entity Democratic Party of Albania have notified the Tirana Police of the holding of a rally the following day, which will start at 5:00 PM in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
Based on and in implementation of the law "On Gatherings", the Tirana Police has undertaken all measures to guarantee public order, enforce the rights and freedoms of citizens and participants in gatherings, as well as protect public and private property.
In implementation of these measures, in order to guarantee the smooth running of the rally, movement will be restricted on several road axes/segments today and tomorrow, specifically:
-From 23:45 today, traffic will be blocked and no parking will be allowed until the end of the rally on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, from the place called "Ura e Dajtit" to "Ismail Qemali" street,
-From 3:00 PM until the end of the rally, there will be a traffic jam on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, from the intersection near the Ministry of Interior to "Mother Teresa" Square, as well as on "Ukraine e Lirë", "Papa John Paul II" and "Ismail Qemali" streets.
Depending on the development of the rally, there may be restrictions on vehicle traffic on other road axes. In case of blockage, to help citizens who will circulate on these axes, Tirana Police has taken measures to divert vehicle traffic to alternative routes.
Tirana Police appeals to citizens to avoid driving on road axes that will be blocked and to use alternative routes, so as not to impede the free movement of participants in the rally.
