Protest in Tirana, investigation begins against 15 protesters

Tirana Police have launched investigations against 15 people, organizers or participants in the protests that have been taking place in Tirana for days.

The police announce that investigations against these individuals have been launched for organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations, disturbing public order and peace, and obstructing the movement of means of transport.

According to the capital's police, protesters blocked traffic on Elbasani Street, the 9-Katësheve area, the former Block and segments of the Ring Road. The Police also emphasize that the hours and perimeter of movement announced in advance before the start of the protest were exceeded.

Meanwhile, as material evidence, the Police announce that a vehicle and 2 mobile phones were seized.

"Tirana - 15 citizens are being prosecuted for organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations, disrupting public order and peace, and obstructing the movement of means of transport.

Following the procedural actions carried out in connection with the rally held in Tirana, the Tirana Police structures criminally prosecuted 15 citizens, specifically:

AG, GP, AT, DG, LK, ES, AK, EL, VD, GK, AP, Dh. C., AB, LG and FK, suspected of committing the criminal offenses “Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations”, “Disturbing public order and peace” and “Obstructing the movement of means of transport”.

The investigative actions resulted in the rally, announced to take place in the time interval from 19:00 to 22:00, in "Skënderbej" Square and on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, continuing on several road axes of the capital, specifically on Elbasani Street, the 9-Katësheve area, the former Block and segments of the Ring Road, where vehicle traffic was blocked, exceeding the officially announced hours and perimeter of movement.

A vehicle and 2 mobile phones were seized as material evidence.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
