Poisoning of Security Academy students,

Tirana Police have expanded their investigations into the poisoning of 64 students at the Security Academy, seizing documentation from the National Food Authority (AKU) related to the inspections carried out on the private company "SORI-Al", which had the contract for supplying food to the students. The investigation aims to verify whether the inspections on the entity were carried out in accordance with legal requirements and whether there were irregularities that may have influenced the event.

According to police sources, all documents that AKU has for the period from January of this year to the present have been obtained. Officers of the Economic Crime Investigation Sector will analyze the procedures followed during the company's inspections, while also examining the fact that similar cases of student poisoning have been registered twice.

In parallel, the investigation team is awaiting laboratory test results, which are expected to determine the cause of the poisoning. The affected students presented to the hospital with symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting and fever.

Depending on the results of the analysis and evidence that will be collected during the investigation, the possibility that the Prosecution will order measures against persons who may be responsible for the incident cannot be ruled out.

"The Economic Crime Investigation Sector of the Tirana Police has seized all the documentation available to the AKU for the controls that have been carried out on the private entity SORI-Al.

Police officers have been taking documents from this institution since January to see if the private company was inspected as required by law. Tirana Police are seeking to determine whether there were irregularities in the inspections that may have contributed to the poisoning of students at the Security Academy twice.

The investigation team is awaiting official tests to determine the true cause of the poisoning of the 64 students, who were taken to the hospital with obvious signs of poisoning such as abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, etc.

"Depending on the results of the analyses that will be made available by the institutions, there may also be arrest warrants for the persons responsible for poisoning the students," the police announced.
