One of the protesters who spoke at the rally in front of the Prime Minister's Office called for an escalation of civic action, stating that protests are no longer enough and that the time has come to move to civil disobedience.
Speaking to citizens gathered on the 19th day of the anti-government protest, he said that Prime Minister Edi Rama has had enough time to change the country, but according to him, he has not shown the will to do so.
" The time has come to end this revolt, to act with a different strategy. Rama had the opportunities in these 14 years and if he had the good will, he would change Albania. He does not want Albania to change ," declared the protester.
According to him, the movement must enter a new phase, as the removal of the government cannot be achieved through ordinary speeches and protests alone.
" Let's change strategy. Edi Rama will not go away with words. We must block the institutions. We must move to civil disobedience! ", he said.
At the end of his speech, the protester thanked citizens for their continued participation in the protest and called for increased pressure on institutions.
" I thank you for this sacrifice. We must paralyze the state ," he declared from the protest podium.
His call was met with applause from some of the protesters gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where protests demanding the removal of Edi Rama and political changes in the country continue.
