The Lushnja Municipality's investment in the construction of two roads in the "18 Tetori" neighborhood has remained unfinished, causing dissatisfaction among the residents of the area.
In November 2025, works were undertaken on “Hysni Gorovelli” and “Athina Dhimitri” streets, which included the demolition of the surrounding walls of the yards and the opening of the sewers, but they were interrupted on December 25. Although the 320 million lek project was planned to be completed within five months, the current situation has left behind damaged roads and open wells.
Residents say that leaving the sewers open has brought heavy odors and unsuitable living conditions to the area.
The member of the Lushnja Municipal Council, Klement Çela, has also reacted to this situation, requesting the local authorities to immediately resume the works, emphasizing that the investment is being financed with citizens' money.
On the other hand, Mayor Eriselda Sefa explained that the interruption of works occurred because the Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprise for the Lushnja region has not yet determined the wastewater discharge quotas for the apartments in this neighborhood, which has hindered the continuation of the project.
