The government takes measures against Bigamy: In prison who maintains 2 or more

While until now we have called the breach of loyalty as a moral problem, in the draft amendments to the Criminal Code, this will be a criminal offense punishable by up to 3 years in prison.

According to the draft law submitted for discussion, it is stated: Maintaining two or more marriages at the same time, or cohabitation with one or more partners at the same time, is punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to three years.

If bigamy continues after the first conviction, it is punishable by imprisonment from six months to four years.

According to the Family Code, cohabitation is called when two individuals have an emotional bond and live as a couple, characterized by a common life, which presents a character of stability and continuity.

The situation of maintaining parallel marriages or cohabitations is not an unknown phenomenon in our country. Not infrequently, in the media we have seen men who cohabit with two women to create the possibility of leaving heirs.

In other cases, there have been cases of men with several parallel relationships, from which they also have children. In certain cases using the trust certain individuals maintain multiple marriages at the same time.

The most recent case is that of doctor Dervish Hasi, who had 3 marriages and created all 4 with a 16-year-old minor, for which he ended up behind bars./TCH
