
Finland is the happiest country in the world according to the official UN report, holding the title for the seventh consecutive year.
Kosovo is ranked 27th, being the happiest country in the Western Balkans region, with Serbia ranked 37th, Bosnia Herzegovina 65th, Montenegro 76th and Macedonia of the North in the 84th place.
As for Albania, in the happiness report it ranks 87th, ranking last compared to the other 5 countries of the region in the Western Balkans. The Nordic countries lead the top ten, with Denmark, Iceland and Sweden following Finland. Eighth in 2023, Switzerland falls to ninth place, seeing its happiness index drop, going from 7,240 to 7,060 in one year. At the other end of the ranking, Afghanistan, grappling with a humanitarian disaster since the Taliban returned to power in 2020, ranks last out of 143 countries. The other Nordic countries all top this ranking, with Denmark (2nd, 7,583), Iceland (3rd, 7,525) and Sweden (fourth, 7,344).
America ranks 24th, Germany 25th and France 27th.
