Snowfall has resumed in the area of Qafa e Llogarasë, creating temporary difficulties in road traffic in the segment from the village of Dukat to Palasë. The situation has required immediate intervention by the Traffic Police and snow removal vehicles, which have been working to clear the road and normalize traffic.
Thanks to timely intervention, the road has been kept open and vehicle traffic continues without problems, while Traffic Police officers have been on the ground to guide and ensure the safety of drivers.
In a reaction on social media, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that, due to difficult weather conditions in some areas of the country, Albanian Road Authority teams have been engaged without interruption throughout the territory, working day and night to keep the main axes open and to guarantee traffic safety.
According to official data, 130 snow removal vehicles, 577 other support vehicles and around 800 employees are currently engaged in the field. 5,300 tons of salt and 1,800 tons of gravel are available to cope with the situation.
Authorities are urging drivers to exercise increased caution, reduce speed, and equip themselves with winter tires and chains, especially in mountainous areas where snowfall and frost are more prevalent.
